Show Abstract
Radiation measurements made during the spring 2008 cruise to the Fram Strait. Albedo of sea ice with thin snow cover on days 1-3 of seventh floe. About 0.008 m snow on about 1.4 m ice. Surface in area was smooth and gray, with ice clearly visible through the snow. Weather varied during logging, but was generally overcast on days 1 and 3, with some breaks in the clouds on day 2. Each measurement type (incident, reflected, etc) was made with a different TriOS Ramses spectroradiometer. These are known to have calibration issues at the longest and shortest wavelengths for which data are reported; we recommend using only data from about 350 to 920 nm. No significant quality control has been done to these data.
