A file conformance checker for NetCDF files following the Climate and Forecast convention and the Attribute Convention for Data Discovery is available in the GCW Data Portal. The first convention ensures that data are supported by sufficient use metadata (standardised variable descriptions, units, missing values etc) to properly understand the data. the second convention allows the GCW Data Portal to extract and prepare discovery metadata allowing the dataset to be searchable in the GCW Data Portal.
